Matthew Torbitt is a political commentator, policy advisor and anti-homelessness campaigner who regularly appears on TV and radio discussing the news and social issues of the day.

He has been called Britain's "Favorite Lefty" and won praise for his common sense, no nonsense approach to fixing problems. He also supports the work of various homeless and mental health charities.

A frequent guest on BBC TV, GB News, Times Radio, Talk TV and LBC, Matthew also speaks at conferences, events and universities. Recent appearances include Newsnight, The Sophy Ridge Show, The Jeremy Vine Show, The Oxford Union and The Fabian Society.

Matthew is a native of Stockport and was homeless at the age of 17. Sleeping rough for almost a year, he was groomed into a gang and narrowly avoided prison. After receiving a suspended sentence and finding a home, he went to university and turned his life around. He would go on to work in the UK Parliament and help organise political campaigns and champion positive social change.

Today, Matthew appears across all media commentating and analysing news and current affairs. His particular interests are politics and sport. He also works with various charities to end homelessness and promote mental wellbeing.
